In 2018, we opened our beautiful, newly renovated school at 1193 Hebron Avenue in Glastonbury. Our Glastonbury school reflects all of the positive components we have learned about early childhood education over more than 30 years of providing exceptional child care services.
Our center in Glastonbury is a beautiful facility with oversized classrooms. The classrooms benefit from wonderful natural lighting and colorful interior features. Surrounding the building are spacious playgrounds, providing the children with ample space to enjoy the outdoors while developing their large muscle skills.
We take security seriously. Our Glastonbury school utilizes facial recognition technology to ensure that only authorized individuals are able to enter the building. In addition, security cameras in each classroom and play area allow all activities in our school to be monitored. We also have strategically placed panic buttons that link us directly to the local police department in the event of an emergency.
As you walk through our front door, you will be welcomed by a large and bright reception area. Here you will be greeted by our Director or Assistant Director and offered a complimentary cup of coffee or tea. In the entry way, you’ll find our “Car Seat Ports,” where parents can leave their child’s car seat or carrier each day for convenience.
Walking through the corridors, you will notice our beautiful and brightly lit classrooms. All of our classrooms have been designed to be very child-centered, right down to the tiniest detail. One thing you might not notice but certainly our infants and toddlers do, are the decorative light panels. Young children are always looking up and these provide a far better view than harsh fluorescent lighting.
Our classrooms are enormous and provide much more space than the minimum requirements for Connecticut classrooms. Each one is divided into activity centers that range from Science and Math, to Music and Movement, and from Building and Construction to Literacy and Dramatic Play.
This school also has a large indoor play room, which provides the children a place to play even when the weather won’t allow us to go outside. We also use it for our Arts and Enrichment classes.
We have a professional kitchen too. Parents love that we provide nutritious lunches, as well as two snacks each day, and the menu is very child friendly!
Surrounding the school are several playgrounds, each designed to suit the needs of particular age groups. The younger children’s playgrounds feature soft surfaces to provide a safe and comfortable substrate for children who are still crawling or learning to walk. The older children’s playground is nature inspired, with features made from natural materials, such as logs, stones, water, etc. This playground allows the children to exercise and develop their large motor skills, while also utilizing their imaginations. In addition to our playgrounds, we also have a koi pond, several vegetable gardens, and a berry patch surrounding the school. The children love digging and planting in the gardens and picking the fruits and vegetables, all the while learning where food comes from. Our outdoor facilities provide the children with the opportunity to learn about and engage with nature and, most importantly, to have fun!
